Teddy M. Kapur
Teddy Kapur is an attorney at Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones LLP. Mr. Kapur represents companies, creditors’ committees, creditors, trustees, and asset purchasers in chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and out-of-court restructurings. He has represented chapter 11 debtors and creditors’ committees in a broad range of industries, including real estate finance companies, national retailers, restaurant chains, and professional services firms in the legal and medical industries. Mr. Kapur has played an integral role in cases that have been awarded the Mid-Size Company Turnaround of the Year by the Turnaround Management Association, Reorganization of the Year Award by The M&A Advisor, and the Corporate Turnaround Deal of the Year by Global M&A Network, LLC.
Prior to joining PSZJ, Mr. Kapur was an associate at O’Melveny & Myers, and served as a law clerk for the Honorable W. Royal Furgeson, U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Texas. Mr. Kapur also possesses a strong business background. He worked as a vice president in a real estate investment division at American International Group and as an analyst in the investment banking division at Merrill Lynch & Co.
Mr. Kapur received his J.D. from New York University School of Law and his Master in Public Administration from Harvard University. He graduated magna cum laude from Rice University.
Katie Kownes
Katie Nownes has been a Bankruptcy Consultant with Omni Management Group, LLC, since June 2006.
Prior to joining Omni, she worked as a bankruptcy paralegal, including at a large national financial institution where she assisted creditors with monitoring their bankruptcy portfolios, cram downs, motions for relief, and foreclosure proceedings. Katie works closely with clients and their professionals in the gathering and processing of data for numerous case administration tasks, including the creditor matrix, schedules & statement of financial affairs, plan solicitation, claims reconciliation and document management.
Monte Green
Monte Green is Vice President, Investment Banking Group in the Los Angeles office of Imperial Capital.
Mr. Green has advised companies/debtors, creditors and other key constituents in balance sheet restructurings, recapitalizations, exchange offers, contested valuations, and distressed sale transactions, both in- and out-of-court. In addition, Mr. Green has raised financing throughout the capital structure – DIP financing, bank debt, bonds, preferred equity and common equity. His experience spans a broad range of industries, including consumer, energy, gaming, general industrials, media, real estate, technology and transportation.
Prior to joining Imperial Capital, Mr. Green was an Associate in Lehman Brothers’ Global Mergers and Acquisitions Group, where he focused on transactions in the Technology space. Mr. Green’s prior experience also includes commercial banking and private equity at Bank of America.
Mr. Green received his B.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from Texas Christian University and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business with concentrations in Accounting, Analytic Finance and Entrepreneurship. Mr. Green is a CFA Charterholder.
James Chu
James Chu is a director in the FTI Corporate Finance/Restructuring practice. Mr. Chu has provided restructuring advisory services to debtors, secured creditors, unsecured creditors committees and trustees in various restructuring engagements. He also assisted strategic and financial buyers with acquisition-related due diligence. Engagements have included analyzing financial statements, financial models and projections, including cash flow forecasting; recovery analyses; liquidation analyses and break-even analyses; due diligence; forensic accounting; bankruptcy claim analysis; and month-end and year-end financial closes and financial statement preparation.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Chu was an auditor at KPMG, where he planned and performed audit and review services on various engagements in the mortgage banking, consumer markets and entertainment industries.
Mr. Chu holds a B.A. in economics with concentration in accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a certified public accountant in California and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors, and Turnaround Management Association.
